If the client will be operating both inside and outside UAE, they’re required to provide the following documents: 1. Detailed scope of trading activity, storage, and distribution (in a document with official stamp/signature) addressing the below points: a) Undertaking that the client will not have storage or display area? b) Undertaking that the client will not manufacture and/or repack the items locally? c) Must include the type of products, country(s) of origin and target country(s). 2. Undertaking letter (attached template) stating that the client will not store/display any products locally. The address should be the exact match of the address on the license. 3. Signed agreement with the partner logistics/agent/distribution company in Dubai. 4. Copy of the trade license of this partner company. B. If the client is operating strictly abroad (any transit of food products within ports, freezones will be considered as trading within the UAE) they must share only the items: 1- The Detailed Scope, stating clearly that no business will be done inside UAE if the activity is being strictly practiced abroad in addition to the above-mentioned details. 2- The Undertaking Letter. The approval is free of charge and takes 5 working days after submitting the full set of documents.

Approval documents

Free zone or mainland

  • IFZA lists this activity; Ajman Free Zone does not carry it under the same name, so confirm the Ajman catalogue before switching lanes.
  • Dubai mainland under DET lets you invoice UAE mainland clients directly, but it expects Ejari-registered premises and runs longer than a free-zone desk package.
  • Department of Food Control clearance is required before the licence issues, which breaks any advertised same-week timeline.
  • IFZA (Dubai) notes: Can be only practiced inside UAE Needs retail space

Also catalogued elsewhere

The same activity name appears in other authority catalogues we track. This is a name match, not a legal equivalence, and Dubai Setup Index does not file in these zones.

FAQ

Can I add more activities to a Meat Seller licence later?

Usually yes, as a licence amendment, subject to the authority's rules and any extra approval attached to the new line.

Does this activity need third-party approval?

Yes. Department of Food Control must clear the activity before the licence issues, so build that step into your timeline.
